How to Tell You Received a Fake Lymphatic Massage

lymphatic massage palo alto massage therapy center

Massage Therapy Center has been a trusted partner of local hospitals to provide lymphatic massages to their cancer patients. We have four experienced lymphatic massage therapists: Kristi, Jiong, Julie, and Loan.

Signs you received a REAL lymphatic massage

  • You needed to urinate more after your session
  • The pressure was very light (lighter than a regular massage)
  • You felt very relaxed, even though the massage was light
  • Movements were slow, repetitive, and rhythmic
  • You felt less bloated or less swollen, not sore
  • It did not feel like muscle work

Signs you received a FAKE “lymphatic” massage

  • It felt like a regular massage, just lighter
  • Therapist worked mainly on muscles (back, shoulders, knots)
  • Pressure was deep, painful, or intense
  • No focus on lymph node areas (neck, armpit, etc.)
  • Movements felt random, not structured
  • Therapist claimed it will “burn fat” or cause weight loss
  • You left feeling sore after
  • your therapist uses a lot of oil and their hands are gliding smoothly over your skin
